Bob Crook- President

The Ultimate Defender is the innovative idea of Robert Crook. Bob has a long personal history with sports. Born and raised in Altoona, PA, he has served as a junior high and high school football coach for the past 23 years. Over the summer, Bob works with college football players to help them improve and refine their technique. Many of Bob’s coaching years were at the 7th grade level, where teaching young players proper technique for their chosen position is very important. It is Bob’s passion for sports and his technique driven style that led him to the design of The Ultimate Defender. A self-declared “technique guy”, Bob saw a need for quarterbacks to learn proper technique early on in their careers and developed The Ultimate Defender to assist in that technique development. He has used the product for personal and team training sessions for a number of years and at the urging of many of his peers and students, is now committed to making the product a marketplace reality.

Joe Kleiner- Vice-President and Director of Marketing

A current MBA student at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and former member of the Huskies football team, Joe Kleiner has a unique experience with the Ultimate Defender.  As a young quarterback, Joe had the opportunity to train with the very first UD prototype as he was coached by Bob Crook throughout Junior High and High School.  In his senior season at Altoona Area High School, Kleiner threw for 2,328 yards and 20 touchdowns breaking the single-season passing records in both categories.  Kleiner also added 11 rushing touchdowns and helped lead his team to an 11-3 record, winning their third straight District 6-9 championship and a trip to the Pennsylvania “AAAA” Western Final.  Kleiner was selected as a first-team All-Region quarterback and earned a spot in the PSFCA East-West All-Star game.  Kleiner credits much of his success to the technique and fundamentals he developed from training regularly with the Ultimate Defender which improved his touch, delivery and overall confidence at the position.  Following High School, Kleiner was thrilled when Bob Crook invited him to come on board the Ultimate Defender team, giving him an opportunity to market and sell a product he truly believed in.
